Air operated chain lifting hoists are similar in application to electric chain lifting hoists, the vane or piston operated motors maintain certain advantages according to the working environment and use.

Air chain hoists provide excellent power to weight ratios, especially at the higher capacities. Control options generally consist of direct mechanical rope, twist grip or a push button pendant. Other benefits of air lifting hoists include a variable speed control, no electrical circuitry, can be used in explosive environments and untroubled by unfriendly working conditions, i.e. dust, heat, humidity, etc.
The air chain lifting hoist can be supplied with a hook suspension as shown, or with a hand pushed, hand geared or air powered trolley.
